چکیده

In the present study, effects of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) on rice (Oryza sativa L. cv. PB1509) plant growth were assessed in hydroponics (5, 10, 25, 50 mg L−1) and soil microcosm 25 kg−1) experiments. both experiments, Zinc (Zn) accumulation parts (roots, shoots grains) was found to increase with increasing doses ZnO NPs. Grains accumulated 29 kg−1 Zn at NPs experiment. experiment, photosynthetic pigments induced by up 10 L−1, while higher L−1 toxic growth. Antioxidant enzyme activities (SOD, CAT, APX GPX) mostly increased or unaffected all doses. acid alkaline phosphatase 5 followed a declining trend. However, significant decrease occurred only kg−1. Urease activity significantly NPs, dehydrogenase did not show any change The length plants much toxicity except root beyond kg−1; however, biomass including grains lower than control dose. antioxidant enzymes (GPX, CAT) showed DTPA extractable concentration elevated exposure concentrations Based this study suggests dose would be an appropriate for augmenting accumulation, can practically utilized growing submerged conditions. HIGHLIGHTS Rice exposed roots, Lower (10 mg/L mg/kg) augmented treatment GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

Oxygen dynamics in submerged rice (Oryza sativa).

Complete submergence of plants prevents direct O(2) and CO(2) exchange with air. Underwater photosynthesis can result in marked diurnal changes in O(2) supply to submerged plants. Dynamics in pO(2) had not been measured directly for submerged rice (Oryza sativa), but in an earlier study, radial O(2) loss from roots showed an initial peak following shoot illumination. O(2) dynamics in shoots and...

Correlation Studies in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Seventy genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L.) were evaluated during Kharif 2012 to study the nature and extent of correlation among yield and yield attributing characters, days to 50 per cent flowering, days to maturity, number of effective tillers per plant, plant height, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight, grain yield per plant, kernel length, kernel breadth and L/B...

Physiological and morphological responses of rice (Oryza sativa L.) to varying water stress management strategies

Sustainability of rice production under limited water conditions is threatened by increasing irrigation water scarcity. Therefore, physiological and morphological responses of rice to varying water stress management strategies should be determined. The physiological and morphological responses of a semi dwarf rice (Hashemi cultivar) to water stress intensities (mild and severe, i.e., short-dura...

Effects of Age on the Survival and Recovery of Submerged Rice (oryza Sativa L.) Seedlings

Post-submergence (about 100 cm water depth for ten days) survivality and recovery of rice seedlings were studied in a greenhouse experiment. Irrespective of varieties, 10 and 15-day-old seedlings barely could recover from the shock. More than 80% of 20-day-old seedlings of variety FR13A survived. With the increase of seedling age, elongation of plants decreased during submergence. The variety F...
